On Transitions, Interdependence, and the Path Ahead: A Message from Andrew Green

Februar 4, 2026

By Andrew Green, Country Manager, B Lab Germany

As we begin 2026, many of us are taking time to consider what the year ahead will ask of us—whether as companies, teams, or as individuals. At this moment, I find myself in the last of these cohorts. After a period of development and growth, both professionally and personally, I’ve made the decision to plan this year differently and step back, take time for my health and family, and create space to reflect on what comes next.

A Choice for Health and Family

The decision to step away comes from a place of necessary reflection. After an intense period of building and scaling, I’ve made a proactive decision to take some time off and prioritize my health and my role as a father. While I remain deeply passionate about everything the B Corp movement stands for, I’ve recognized that my next contribution to this mission needs to align more closely with my natural drive for entrepreneurship.

Building the Foundation: 2023–2025

When I joined this movement in 2023, B Lab Germany was at a different stage of maturity. Looking back, I am incredibly proud of the structural and cultural foundation we have built together:

  • Scaling for Impact: We successfully doubled the B Corp community in Germany and professionalized our operations, growing from a team of 3 to 9 specialists in our own Berlin headquarters.
  • Operational Excellence: We reached over €1 million in annual turnover, enabling greater investment in mission delivery and community support, but more importantly, we transformed how we work. By implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) by Gino Wickman, we moved toward a more disciplined, visionary approach. Thank you dearly, Heiko Mitzkus, for leading this.
  • The Power of Partnership: We moved away from the “lone leader” myth. By working in a parallel Visionary and Integrator partnership, we proved that modern organizations don’t need one person at the top—they need complementary partnerships to thrive.
  • A Historic Milestone: For the first time in 20 years, the new B Corp Standards are available in German. Getting these standards integrated into the B Impact Assessment (BIA) is a massive priority for 2026, and the groundwork is now firmly in place.

Recognition Increase: Beyond the numbers, our movement is now commanding the spotlight. We find ourselves and our mission in more media outlets and on bigger stages than ever before. A standout example of this is our presence at the Impact Festival: In just two years, we evolved from being the smallest exhibitor—working off a bar table—to being one of the largest ecosystem exhibitors at the entire event. It is a visual testament to our collective momentum.

The Heart of the Movement: People

While the KPIs and data points are important, my most cherished memories aren’t found in spreadsheets. They are in one-on-one conversations with CEOs, founders, and business leaders. In the moments where we stopped talking about “business as usual” and started talking about being parents, our hobbies, and the raw passion to build a more equitable economy for all. It is in those moments of shared humanity that the real power of this movement lies.

And a special note to the future: I’ve found that speaking to students sits nowhere on a corporate KPI sheet, but if you are ever feeling your passion fading, it is the best thing you can do to invigorate your soul. Their clarity and expectation for a better world are the ultimate fuel!

Looking Toward 2026: Evolution and Unity

As B Lab Global evolves into a more unified organization, B Lab Germany will benefit from simplified governance and a more globally connected network. B Lab Germany’s organizational structure is evolving toward a streamlined global model. This integration is designed to scale resources and maximize the impact for local B Corp communities, ensuring that the German B Corp movement keeps accelerating and thriving.

I want to extend a deep, personal thank you to Claire Pace, who took a chance on me, to my former advisory Board members, and to every person in this beautiful B Corp movement who welcomed me into their journey.

Staying Connected

The “B” in B Corp stands for Benefit—and that benefit is always collective. While I am stepping out of this role, my belief in and commitment to this movement remain unchanged.

I also want to leave you with complete confidence in what comes next. The B Corp community in Germany is being stewarded by an exceptional team—people of integrity, clarity, and genuine care for both the mission and those behind it. I am deeply grateful for their partnership and trust them fully to guide this work forward.

I’m using this period of reinvention to lean into the work that energizes me most: teaching, speaking, and storytelling. If you’re organizing an event, hosting a podcast or looking for a guest lecturer for your students, please reach out. I’d love to bring my energy to your project. You can find me on LinkedIn.

Thank you for the trust, the challenges, and the shared vision. Let’s make 2026 the year of even bolder action.

With gratitude,

Andrew Green (Greenie)
Country Manager, B Lab Germany
